StubHub Becomes Official Ticket Marketplace of LSU Athletics

EyeOverLSUStubHub, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, has signed a multi-year agreement with LSU Athletics as the official ticket marketplace of the Tigers. The agreement is in partnership with Spectra Ticketing and Fan Engagement, provider of integrated ticketing and marketing services and OUTFRONT Media Sports, Inc., the University’s multimedia rights partner.

StubHub began activation of this agreement with the start of LSU’s basketball season in November of 2015 and will provide its LSU football marketplace for this first time in 2016.

The partnership with LSU marks StubHub’s fourth SEC property on its roster of NCAA partnerships, and builds on its position as a major partner and sponsor in the collegiate space, working with more than 40 Division I universities.

“We are excited about our partnership with StubHub and the opportunities their ticket marketplace has and will provide our fans,” LSU Deputy Director of Athletics Eddie Nunez said. “StubHub is the industry leader and this collaboration will give our fans an easy platform to buy and resell tickets.”

Through StubHub’s strategic partnership integration with industry-leader Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement, LSU season ticket holders will access StubHub as the official ticket marketplace of the Tigers. The service is a fully-integrated ticketing platform, which allows season- and single-game ticket holders the opportunity to resell tickets with confidence and ease on the world’s largest ticket marketplace, while also providing buyers a safe and secure shopping experience, with instant tickets upon purchase, via mobile delivery or print-at-home.

“We are excited to enhance our current long-term partnership with LSU Athletics to provide their fans with a seamless, fan-friendly platform to buy and resell tickets on the world’s largest marketplace,” said Dave Butler, president and chief executive officer at Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement. “Our strategic partnership integration with StubHub helps to build on the excitement of LSU’s events and enable access to fantastic seats for must-attend games.”

The industry-leading technology, paired with StubHub’s wealth of data, will also provide Tigers’ fans with the clearest pricing guidance and the most accurate recommendations to get the very best value. Every transaction is also backed by StubHub’s 100% money-back Fan Protect Guarantee and access to exceptional 24/7 customer service.

“As one of college sports’ most dynamic schools, StubHub is proud to partner with LSU Athletics,” said Kate Green, head of sports business development, StubHub. “We look forward to working with the Tigers community to provide fans a best-in-class event-going experience, while also offering a suite of tools that make it easier than ever to support LSU Athletics.”

In addition to the ticketing integration, StubHub will receive a portfolio of sponsorship and marketing assets, including social collaborations, plus digital and in-venue advertising and promotions at football and basketball games, which includes StubHub’s signature “Move of the Game,” wherein a Tigers season ticket holder is surprised with upgraded premium seats at an athletic event. The sponsorship and marketing rights are managed by OUTFRONT Media Sports, the exclusive multimedia rights holder for LSU Athletics.

“We are pleased to partner with an industry leader like StubHub,” said Ward Wyatt, general manager of LSU Sports Properties.  “This partnership will provide a great service to all LSU fans and we are excited for the start of the 2016 LSU Football season.”

LSU joins three other SEC schools in the StubHub portfolio; University of Georgia (2013), Auburn University (2012) and University of Alabama (2012).
